(Spoilers) Hell on Wheels: S3E8 "It Happened In Boston" Impressions

***SPOILER WARNING: Spoilers may be found in the post below about VARIOUS ITEMS. And I'm going to add in a bit of filler text here to limit how much of the main article gets shown in a preview. That should take care of most of it. Hopefully. And away we go. SPOILER WARNING. ***

Continuity!

Overview
Elam is told by Eva that she gave the baby away and he kicks her out of the "house". Bohannon asks Durant for help to get the workers that left Hell on Wheels due to the cholera back at the Mormon fort. They end up going and run into the head of the competing railroad company last seen in the premiere. The workers end up going back without much trouble.

A government investigator shows up to investigate the missing Senator who was murdered in the last episode. He ends up at Hell on Wheels and Sean is named as a suspect. Saying that he'll confess, Mickey kills him in Ruth's church, and the investigator closes the case.

The reporter's back in town again.

Highlights
Most interesting scene goes to the run in with the head of the other railroad company outside the Mormon fort and his entourage of Chinese workers. He predicts Mandarin to be the second language of the United States in the near future.

The big scene has to be Mickey shooting Sean. Both characters have been around since the beginning.

Impressions
Not too much happens this episode other than the offing of Sean. When Mickey shoots him from behind the curtain, I actually thought he hit Ruth. Can't say I really care that he's dead. While he has played a role in the Durant-Bohannon feud, his storyline's still been pretty secondary. Seems more like his death is being used to develop the story with Ruth. If you see the preview, apparently a love interest is going to be developed between Bohannon and Ruth -- that came out of nowhere, but not really, in retrospect.

The Mormons are also looking more and more like a threat to the railroad -- again, confirmed if you see the preview. Only two episodes left for the season? That went very quick. I was annoyed when they killed off the Fair-Haired Maiden, but I'm completely back into this show now.
