(Spoilers) Fallout 4: Stuff I Found, Part 1

***SPOILER WARNING: Spoilers may be found in the post below about VARIOUS ITEMS. And I'm going to add in a bit of filler text here to limit how much of the main article gets shown in a preview. That should take care of most of it. Hopefully. And away we go. SPOILER WARNING. ***

To limit the number of spoilers one may be exposed to, I split these things up into smaller pieces. These "helpful things" were found while playing Fallout 4 on the PC, not sure if there are any differences across the platforms.

Starlight Drive In, Settlement
I spent probably close to an hour building a fence around the pond in the middle of the Starlight Drive-in lot to keep settlers away from the radiation -- were they even affected by passive radiation? It was closed off and could only be entered by jumping over. Easy for me, not so easy for settlers. However, the barrier turned out to be less than perfect because settlers were spawning inside the fence after I fast-traveled into the settlement.

Then I found out that the radiation wasn't coming from the water, it was coming from the yellow barrels in the water -- I just started playing Fallout 4 a few days prior. And then I accidentally found out that the barrels were highlighted when I hovered over them in building-mode. Ya, turned out that they could be scrapped. Once I scrapped all the barrels, the radiation disappeared.

On one hand, I reclaimed half of the parking lot and didn't have to shepherd settlers out of the danger zone anymore. On the other, there went an hour used to build the entire fence and another ten minutes to tear it down. That was a really nice and square fence where I stuck some turrets. Ugh...
